Welcome to our birthday party. Eight years ago we were born into this world and 2 months later we joined our dads’ family as their favorite kids. I know we don’t look happy, but our dads make us wear these silly hats and pose for photos before we get to eat our cake. Little sister Lucky scarfed down her cake in no time, while Cato, the gentleman he is, took his time. As always we enjoyed our party and especially the cake and the treats. Wish you could have joined us. Thanks, Dads!
It’s 19 degrees and snowing heavily. We’ve had our dinner, brushed our teeth, and been outside to pee. One of our dads is in the basement playing computer games and the other is sitting across from us on the other couch watching television. We have had our dinner and brushed our teeth. And we’ve been out in the cold snow to pee. We’re all comfy on our couch (not really ours, we have to share). What more could we ask for? Maybe more treats, but that is wishful thinking. What a life we have!
I have 3 favorite spots in our house. The bedroom where I love to sleep on the bed. The basement, where I can watch the sump pump. And my all-time favorite, the kitchen. Cato’s favorite spot I think it the bed, or any place where both of my dads are at the same time.
I am rarely away from the kitchen when it is occupied by one of my dads. Of course, I am as close to the kitchen table as I can get during mealtime. At breakfast my dad, Steve shares his morning banana with me, and sometimes with Cato, if he isn’t being picky. My dads always try to give us healthy treats, but once and a while we get a piece of meat or, our favorite pizza crusts.
My brother Cato is not as vigilant as I am when it comes to looking for the odd piece of food that could fall of the table or counter. He usually just lies under the table sleeping until he hears my mouth chewing. Then he sits up and waits for something to go his way.
In the picture above you can see me, Lucky, on the left, and Cato, on the right watching every move our dad Kevin is making, just in case, he drops something as he prepares a charcuterie board for a party. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a thing. Oh well, next time!
My dads are always calling me a pig for constantly looking for something to eat. But as I see it, I am only helping the floor stay clean by scarfing up any food before it hits the floor. It’s a job that requires a lot of patience!
We usually only beg from our human parents, but we are asking for help from our readers. My dad renewed this website for another year. He was considering canceling our blog because of the cost, but we begged for one more chance.
He has to pay $120 a year to be able to publish our blog so everyone can see what we are up to. Unfortunately, my dad cannot advertise with Adsense or Infolinks to help pay for maintaining our blog, unless he pays a lot more money to upgrade. He’s retired and is not a millionaire. It’s not as though he wants to earn thousands of dollars a month, even though that would be nice. He did manage to place a couple of ads for Amazon and Chewey, but we don’t think they really work. WordPress does place ads on our site and we have earned all of 3 cents in the past year.
My dad has decided to try giving our blog another year to see if he can afford to pay for the blog and buy us treats, at the same time. He is placing a plea for donations to help pay for our subscription and website and hopes some people reading about us will help and chip in a few bucks as a donation. So if you want to continue reading about us and buy us some treats please help and make a donation.
Seven years ago Lucky and I were born. In April our dads adopted us and brought us to live with them in their new home. Today (February 27) is also the day that our dads arrived in the United States from Malaysia to live permanently. Three years ago our dad Kevin received notice that he passed the qualifications to become a US citizen. Tomorrow is also our dad Steve’s birthday.
Because there was so much to be grateful for our dad Kevin cooked us all a big meal. For our birthday he cooked us steak, carrots and cabbage. We even had a roll. Our dads had crab legs, which we didn’t have. Because we had so much to eat we have to wait until tomorrow for our birthday cake. It’ll be another great day for us. We will share the pictures of the birthday cake tomorrow. Here are a few more pictures of us eating our birthday dinner. See how well behaved we are sitting at the table!
Me, Cato.
My sister, Lucky.
Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday Cato and Lucky, Happy Birthday to us!
This is how we arrived at our new home, in a Lowe’s cardboard box. We didn’t stay in the box in the car on the way home and we didn’t stay in the box very long when we got home.
We stayed in a little pen in the from foyer of our house until our daddies got us each a crate. We cried all night long and soon learned to climb over this pen.
Sometimes our humans try to sneak away and work in the front yard or talk with the neighbors across the street. They think we don’t know where they are, but nothing escapes our watchful eyes.
From this vantage point, we can see if there is anyone walking down the street or if the mailman is coming. If there’s a dog being walked or a delivery truck on the street we always sound the alarm. Our humans say we think we own the street and everyone has to ask our permission to walk down the street or welcome company into their homes. That’s not true, but it would be nice if it were. We may be cattle dogs, but we’re good watchdogs too!
It’s been a long time since we’ve posted anything on our blog and for that, we both apologize. The fact is that our human has been extremely lazy for quite a long time. You would think he would have much more time to help us write these posts since he and everyone else has been sheltering in place as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. My other human dad is working from home so we get to spend a lot more time with both our dads. Our dad that helps with our blog has been spending his time writing his other blogs, which are about stuff like politics. We are not interested in that guy my human doesn’t like and blogs about, mainly because that guy doesn’t like dogs. After a whole day of whining from Cato, my human has agreed to start writing more for us on our blog. We hope he will keep his word and help us write more. If more people follow our blog I think he will write more. Please help us. See you soon we hope.
My human dad who helps us write this blog has been very lazy lately so we haven’t written any posts lately. We’re going to keep after him so we can share with you what we’re doing. The picture above shows us once again waiting for a treat One of my dads loves bananas and so do we. Lucky especially loves bananas, but she loves any kind of food, except for her dog food.
We had a very long and snowy winter and are happy that spring finally arrived and summer will begin soon. We always get yelled at during the springtime because we never wipe our muddy feet off when we go out in the rain to pee. My dad always cleans up after us though.
In February we had another birthday part and we’ll post a couple of pictures soon. We have to go out and play now since it stopped raining so we’ll be back soon
Hi everyone. Lucky here. I am sorry that Cato and I didn’t post our Christmas photos and holiday wishes earlier. There was so much activity around here and you wouldn’t believe all of the food in our house! Our humans hung our stockings by the fireplace and we both went crazy with all of the good smells coming from what was in them. But we behaved and didn’t pull them down.
Neither one of us can read too well.
There were even gifts under the tree for my brother Cato and me, but we were both very well behaved an didn’t chew on them. We knew they were ours because we could smell that all too familiar pet shop smell. Neither one of us can read too well, but we can smell real good!
…we were both bad kids…
On Christmas morning we were both very excited to open our gifts. I tried to hide my big gift under the blankets on the couch, but Cato opened his right away. Finally I opened mine and found a big orange fish that squeaked. Cato got a big green turtle. I would have shown you pictures, but we were both bad kids and chewed them both up already. One of my dad’s told me that’s why he doesn’t buy us more squeaky toys.
I hope Santa forgets about this by the time next Christmas comes around!
We both got a brand new collar to wear. Cato’s is blue and mine is wild pink. You can see us wearing them in the photos above. Cato has such long hair you can’t see his very well. We also got a lot of goodies in our stockings, but we only get one treat each day. I was a naughty girl today and climbed onto a chair and stole some Christmas cookies that were on the dining room table. I hope Santa
forgets about this by the time next Christmas comes around!
Happy New Year!
Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, but Cato and I don’t stay up until midnight to celebrate because we start getting ready for bed around 9 PM. Our dads celebrate though and told me to wish everyone a Happy New Year from them and Cato and myself.
