Seven years ago Lucky and I were born. In April our dads adopted us and brought us to live with them in their new home. Today (February 27) is also the day that our dads arrived in the United States from Malaysia to live permanently. Three years ago our dad Kevin received notice that he passed the qualifications to become a US citizen. Tomorrow is also our dad Steve’s birthday.
Because there was so much to be grateful for our dad Kevin cooked us all a big meal. For our birthday he cooked us steak, carrots and cabbage. We even had a roll. Our dads had crab legs, which we didn’t have. Because we had so much to eat we have to wait until tomorrow for our birthday cake. It’ll be another great day for us. We will share the pictures of the birthday cake tomorrow. Here are a few more pictures of us eating our birthday dinner. See how well behaved we are sitting at the table!
My sister, Lucky.
Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday Cato and Lucky, Happy Birthday to us!
Lucky and I would like to wish all of our family and friends who celebrate the Chinese New Year a very Happy New Year. This year is the year of the Ox. Our dad, Kevin, is from Malaysia and is Malaysian Chinese, so this is a big holiday for him – and us.
Our dads and their niece are having a traditional Malaysian meal served during the Lunar New Year. It is called a “steamboat”. It is very good, but we won’t get much of anything, except maybe for some veggies that are good for us. We can always hope though.
This is what our dads see every morning when they open their eyes. A little bit of quiet time before we get excited to go out and pee and wait, in hopes of sharing some breakfast with them. The bed is our favorite place in the house. But it would be nice if our dads bought a bigger one so we could stretch out. Some day!
Every time one of my dads eats breakfast,or any other meal, I’m right there to join them. I just want to make sure that the floor is kept clean from fallen food. I’m so helpful, aren’t I? if you’re wondering where Cato is, he’s watching from under the table.
At our house we eat every meal as a family, with dads Kevin and Steve and Cato and myself. I guess our dads really don’t have another choice with us around. Usually we are a little bit better behaved than what you see in the photo above. Well, at least Cato is better behaved. Usually I am actively watching every bite that goes into my dads’ mouths. Cato is usually resting quietly under the table. But once he hears my mouth open he’s up in a flash, hoping to get some of what I had.
Even though Cato and I always eat before our dads, we are always ready for a sample of what they are eating. Sometimes we are lucky and are given a morsel to sample, as long as it is healthy for us. When my dad clears the table and puts the dirty dishes in the dishwasher I always try to preclean them as they are placed in the dishwasher.
After everything is cleaned up my dad asks “who wants to brush their teeth?” and we both run to where are treats are kept. Then he gives us our dental chews so we can keep our teeth clean.
This is our routine every time our dads have a meal or a snack. When we have company we are a little more behaved., even when our favorite food, pizza is served. Cato and I always wonder why our dads never take us out to a restaurant with them. They must think we wouldn’t behave. What do you think?
I don’t understand why my dad is always watching TV or doing something else when he could be petting me. Lucky is chewing on one of her toys, so she doesn’t need attention. I wouldn’t mind if my dad could pet me for hours. Poor me. I don’t get any attention!
Well, finally our wait was over. We woke up this morning, Christmas morning, to find out Santa Claus had been to our house during the night. Our dads opened their presents first and then it was our turn. Here are some of the photos my dad, Kevin took. I hope you had as much fun as we did.
We got a lot of stuff in our stockings too, but we have to wait until later to enjoy them. Our dads are afraid we would eat all of the treats in one day. Can you imagine that? Here are the photos of our stockings, full of treats.
Merry Christmas again to all of our pet friends and pet parents.
Lucky and I are getting pretty excited waiting for Santa Claus to come. We know there are a couple of presents under the tree for us, but what we are really excited for are our stocking that are hanging from the mantle.
Cato guarding our stockings.
There are four stocking hanging from the mantle. One for each of our dads and one for each of us. If you look closely you can see that our stocking are actually shaped like a bone. We know there are a lot of goodies in there, but we have to wait for 2 more days.
We would like to wish all of our furry friends and slimy and scaly and feathery pet friends a very Merry Christmas . And also a very Merry Christmas to your pet parents. I’m sure they will show you a lot of love this holiday season. Stay safe and warm!
Cato and I, of course are the most important pets our dads have, but we want to introduce the other pets that live in our household. My dads have 2 quaker parrots, Blue and Gizmo. They are extremely noisy and messy. Sometimes they are allowed to fly around the house, but Cato and I know that we are not allowed to catch them. Once Blue even landed on Cato’s head. He didn’t like it, but he didn’t touch Blue. Cato and I can chase as many birds as we want when we are outside, but we leave Blue and Gizmo alone.
My dad, Kevin, has a chameleon. He’s neat because he turns all kinds of colors, from blue, to red, to yellow and of course green. When he’s outside his enclosure we can sniff him, but he is kind of boring because he moves so slowly.
My dads also have two saltwater aquariums, which they spend a lot of money on. I don’t get, though. The fish don’t do anything except swim around. They’re pretty, but we usually ignore them. There are also some koi that live in the pond in our backyard. We rarely see them, so we don’t pay any attention to them.
So that’s all of the members of our little family. Some people call our house a zoo, but it’s our home and we love it.
Our dads niece, Sarah, posted on Facebook, this picture of her pets, our cousins Stanley and Cooper. They look so cute with their Santa hats on, but I don’t think Cooper is too happy about the idea. Stanley seems to be strutting his stuff and showing off for Cooper. We hope our dads don’t get any ideas! We wear party hats only on our birthday every year. And we don’t like it! Merry Christmas cuzzes!
